Keystone Kidtopia's Signature Event takes place on Feb. 18-21, 2010 with the debut of the world's highest snow fort, kid-centric live concert, Radio Disney, educational and interactive activities and more! And those are the activities after you take your skis off. Keystone’s Kidtopia Festival from February 18 - 21 is full of programming dedicated to kids. The Signature Weekend features concerts, entertainment from Radio Disney, and the debut of the world’s largest snowfort on top of Keystone’s Dercum Mountain. With a carnival of activities and entertainment, no child will complain about boredom on a ski vacation to Keystone. Located in the Buffalo Courtyard in River Run Village, the Kidtopia Headquarters Tent offers families information, a warm refuge, and plenty to do including snowflake making, cookie decorating, winter crafts, coloring, and much more. Exclusive to the Signature Weekend is a special family-friendly concert for kids and parents to dance and groove in the River Run Village! Radio Disney will be onsite to run the show and entertain everyone with their crazy costumes and wild games. The snowfort on top of Dercum Mountain is every child’s dream and Kidtopia’s premiere attraction with a grand entrance, lookout tower, drawbridge, and resident snowdragon to be debuted with a huge fireworks show. Ripperoo’s Village Parade is a true show of childhood arts and crafts skills and begins at the River Run Ski School and heads through the village with the Ski and Ride School’s Ripperoo in the lead. With noisemakers, streamers, and lots of smiles to go around, it’s a great way to end a ski day. Join us for this weekend extravaganza filled with family fun for all ages! Pictures with Riperoo – Come join everyone’s favorite official ski school mascot at the base of the River Run gondola. Get to meet Riperoo and take pictures to remember all the fun you have been having! When: Daily from 10:00AM – 11:00 AM Where: Base of the River Run gondola
NASTAR Family Racing- Check out discounted Kidtopia rates for the entire family at the NASTAR course on Flying Dutchman. It is only $5.00 a person and unlimited runs. When: Daily 10:00AM – 2:30PM for all Kidtopia dates Where: Dercum Mountain on
Glow Bug Skate Night – Come ice skate and glow in the dark. At the Keystone Adventure Center they will dress you up in all sorts of glow gear and you can skate around the largest outdoor rink. When: Monday – dusk until closing Where: Keystone Adventure Center
Hot Cocoa – Make yourself comfortable by the River Run plaza fire pit and cozy up with some free hot chocolate. Watch the snow fall and keep warm by the fire and enjoy our wonderful hot chocolate. When: 3:00PM – Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Where: River Run Fire Pit (by Parrot Eyes)
Aloha Lunch Skate – Come to the Keystone Adventure Center and have a lunch time “Aloha” style skate and lunch. When: Tuesday – 12:00PM – 2:00PM Where: Keystone Adventure Center, Lakeside Village
Meet Smokey the Bear – At the base of the River Run gondola you can meet Smokey the Bear. Learn about the White River National Forest and take pictures with everyone’s favorite bear. When: Thursday – 10:00AM – 11:00AM Where: Base of the River Run gondola
Disco Tubing At Night – Experience the most fun you will have on the mountain without your skis or snowboard! Located at the top of Dercum Mountain, disco tubing will send you flying down our tubing course listening to music that will make you want to dance. Meet our Avalanche Dog – Say hello to our highly trained, friendly canine friends that keep us all safe on the mountain. They will be waiting for you with special tricks at the top of Dercum Mountain. When: Friday – 11AM Where: Top of Dercum Mountain
Riperoo’s Village Parade – Everyone is welcome to show off your arts, crafts, and unique self with this exciting village parade. We will begin at River Run Ski School and head through the River Run Village. There will be noisemakers, streamers, and lots of smiles to go around. Hang out with Riperoo too! Western BBQ – Come on down for an old fashioned Western Barbeque at Summit House. Bring your cowboy hats, boots, and lasso. Featuring authentic “Cowboy and Cowgirl” fare, a family fun event for everyone. Adults: $20; Kids 5-14: $14; Kids 5 and under: free. Menu items include: Caesar Salad, Potato Salad, Carving Station, BBQ Chicken, Corn on the Cob, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Chicken Fingers, Corn Muffins, Fruit Cobbler with Whipped Cream When: Saturday – 5:00PM – 8:00PM Where: Summit House (on the top of Dercum Mountain)
Glow Stick Kids Ski Parade – This exciting, open to public, event lets families glow in the dark while skiing/snowboarding down Discovery Hill. Meet up at the Ski/Ride school at the base of the gondola in River Run Village. When: Sunday @ 4:15 Where: Bottom of Discovery Hill chair
Snowfort – New to Keystone Resort, Kidtopia will be building a massive snowfort. With 12’ high walls, a maze, and lookout tower this snowfort will be the highlight of your trip! When: February 18 until the end of the season! Where: Top of Dercum Mountain
